Resolution in Support of Military-Connected Students and Families

Campus Resolution
WHEREAS, LBJ Elementary School is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, including those who are military-connected; and
WHEREAS, military-connected students often experience unique transitions and challenges related to deployment, relocation, separation from family members, and reintegration; and
WHEREAS, LBJ Elementary recognizes that these students bring strength, resilience, diversity, and leadership to our school community; and
WHEREAS, the staff, students, and families of LBJ Elementary School value the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military members and their families; and
WHEREAS, LBJ Elementary is committed to implementing systems, resources, and supports—including counseling services, academic continuity practices, and social-emotional supports—to ensure that military-connected students are thriving academically, socially, and emotionally; and
WHEREAS, LBJ Elementary proudly participates in district-wide efforts to recognize and honor military-connected families through Month of the Military Child, Purple Up Day, and other campus celebrations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that LBJ Elementary School affirms its unwavering commitment to:

Support military-connected students academically, socially, and emotionally;

Provide timely assistance and smooth transitions for students experiencing relocation or deployment-related changes;

Honor and recognize the service of military families throughout the school year;

Maintain a campus culture of respect, gratitude, and belonging for all who serve or have served;

Educate staff on best practices in supporting military-connected learners; and
-
Partner with families and community organizations to strengthen comprehensive support systems for our military-connected students.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that LBJ Elementary School stands united as a Knight family, committed to ensuring that military-connected students receive the care, dignity, and excellence they deserve.
