2. Housing & Enrollment Prep 30–60 Days Before Move • Finalize housing (lease/purchase)
• Schedule utilities for move-in
• Confirm zoned school for your new address
• Contact LBJ Elementary to introduce your family
• Request school calendar, bell schedule, transportation details
• Ask about military-connected student supports
• Gather enrollment paperwork for ECISD
3. School Readiness & Logistics 2–4 Weeks Before Move • Review student handbook and dress code
• Explore PTA and volunteer opportunities
• Identify bus route options (if applicable)
• Locate nearby pediatrician, dentist, after-school care, library
• Prepare child emotionally for transition
4. Arrival & Enrollment First Week in Odessa • Visit LBJ Elementary to enroll in person
• Submit all documents: proof of residence, immunizations, records
• Take a campus tour with your child
• Learn drop-off & pick-up procedures
• Set up district parent portal & communication alerts
• Confirm teacher assignment

7. Engagement & Community Building Ongoing • Attend PTA meetings and campus events
• Volunteer on campus when available
• Participate in festivals, family nights, and school traditions
• Stay updated on campus communication and district alerts
8. Evaluate & Adjust End of Semester • Review academic and behavior progress
• Identify Glows (strengths) and Grows (areas for improvement)
• Adjust routines to support academic success
• Review services if needed (GT, EB, Special Ed, 504)
• Maintain digital copies of updated records (for future PCS moves)
